Tankersley Poppy Exhibition

To mark the end of the First World War hostilities, Tankersley St. Peter's Church, will host "an exhibition of Poppies ". Individuals and/ or community groups are invited to take part in contributing a display for the exhibition, using poppies as some part of the creation. The church will be open to view the displays on the weekend of the 3rd / 4th of November, and be left in church for the Remembrance service on the 11th of November. Each exhibit can be in any medium, using any non-edible materials. Each exhibit should be less than 1 metre high/ wide, and could be created to remember one particular individual, one particular event, or could take on a more general theme connected to the First World War, so long as the creation includes poppies as part of it. A short explanation should accompany each display, and this will be included in a catalogue that the church will have printed.

Registration of the intent to exhibit should be made by the 30th of September, to reserve a spot in church. If you or your organisation would like to take part, please speak to Keith or Janet Hale, email us at, or phone 01226 744140, and complete an application form.
